The third installment in the highly popular Asahi Dojo series introduces standing technique instruction using Kihon-kun, a training gi developed by Chief Instructor Asahi.

Many instructors teaching beginners in Judo likely use abstract phrases like Pull your hands strongly! Twist that wrist! or Sweep their legs with all your might!

Instructors with Judo experience tend to give instructions to athletes using very abstract language based on their own experience. This makes it difficult for athletes with less Judo experience to fully grasp the instructor's intentions or what they want to convey, slowing down their progress.

The teaching method introduced here utilizes Kihon-kun, developed to communicate the instructor's message more accurately to the athlete. By simply instructing the athlete using the numbers or colors on the gi, you can observe athletes smoothly executing grips and throws automatically.

By watching this DVD, instructors can provide more concrete guidance, and athletes can naturally acquire movements. We highly recommend this DVD as a tool to aid in athlete development.
