It has a nearly square shape and is stable in many positions, but it is most stable as shown in the first photo.
Although the stone has a simple, square appearance, the characteristic wood grain of petrified wood gives it a sense of age and variation.
This is petrified wood collected from the Ishizawa River in Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture, and washed with a scrub brush.
Since it is well-petrified, it will shine if polished. The surface appears yellowish-brown to reddish-brown due to iron oxides, but the underlying stone is jet black.
It might be interesting to polish the entire surface over time to develop it into a black water stone.
