Description
Vintage Pyrex 501-B Small Fridgie Dish in Red, lid flawed This is a vintage Pyrex 501-B small refrigerator dish in red, typically featuring a 1.5-cup capacity and a clear glass lid. The Pyrex 501 small refrigerator dish (affectionately called a fridgie by collectors) holds an iconic spot in American mid-century kitchen history. These dishes were produced between 1946 and 1960 as part of the primary color sets. High-durability borosilicate milk glass coated in a glossy exterior fired-on paint. The Lid (#501-C): Made of heavy, clear ridge-line glass. Because these ridge lids chipped easily or got separated over the decades, finding a dish with its original intact lid significantly raises its value. The base dish can safely withstand oven temperatures up to 425°F. This lid is flawed. There is a big chip in it as shown. One side is gnawed a bit as shown. The lid is imperfect. The red paint is not totally perfect, as shown in pictures. Dimensions: 4x 3x 2.5
